Artichokes with Clams

How tasty artichokes are anyway we prepare them, but if you cook them in sauce with clams, they are spectacular, promise ;-) And have a look at how easy they are to prepare. Among the many benefits of this precious vegetable from this week, it reduces cholesterol, it is a natural liver medicine, it is a very diuretic food with substances capable of promoting the elimination of fluids of the body, and it is very rich in fiber providing satiety, and prevents constipation. We are now sharing our recipe and we really hope that you enjoy it as much as we did:


Ingredients

  • 6 artichokes
  • 2 spring onions
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • ½ glass sherry wine
  • ¼ kilo (½ lb) clams
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Some saffron shreds
  • 1 glass of the broth from bowling the artichokes

Preparation


⦿ To start with we are going to cut the artichokes in four pieces in a longitudinal way. We are going to put them in a bowl with water with the juice of a lemon for 5 minutes to avoid rusting.


⦿ Then we are going to cook the artichokes for 5 minutes in a pot with water and salt and then drain them. Keep the water from cooking them (a glass).


⦿ Meanwhile we put oil in a large skillet and fry the chopped spring onions.


⦿ Then we add the chopped artichokes, mix them for some minutes and then add the flour, mix and then add the wine. We cook then until the wine evaporates and then add the cooking water. We keep on cooking for 10 minutes.


⦿ We will sautéed the clams in a frying pan with a tablespoon of oil and a clove of garlic until our clams open.


⦿ We will add them to the stew and continue cooking for a few minutes. Once they are ready we will put them on a plate and serve it at the table and enjoy it with family and friends ☺
